


You're looking for one named something other than Intel, it will probably be Marvell or VIA. If you're not careful you can end up disabling your hard drive controller this way making your PC unbootable, be careful! Look under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" and you'll see all the USB controllers and hubs. Sometimes people figure this stuff out before you, so if you know your motherboard's model number you can sometimes figure this out with google.ĭevice Manager. I always suggest figuring out which ports are on the Intel controller and use those for your critical stuff like audio interfaces, third party USB hosts generally don't play well with audio hardware. Most computer motherboards (at least Intel-based ones) have a few ports off the PCH then there's usually another third-party controller from someone like VIA or Marvell for additional USB and SATA ports. There should be some USB ports that are on a different controller, try those. OK, then they're probably on the same controller chip and the Wifi dongle is eating up all the bandwidth.
